I currently run a dynamic  saxophone program based out of my home in Ann Arbor, mixed with house visits. My ward-winning students come from Dexter, Pickney, Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, and Saline.  I provide weekly lessons designed to meet each student's needs and enhance their musical and personal growth. I call upon a variety of educational resources and musical styles to help each student achieve their goals and grow as a musician.  Each lesson builds on greater musical understanding, technical ability, and emotional expression. I work with students to set short-term and long-term goals, and develop good practice habits. My studio is a positive, enthusiastic, and encouraging environment where students and parents support each other through thoughtful listening, skillful playing, creative exploration, and personal development.

I have taught the saxophone in group and private settings for thirteen years. I have held the the official position of saxophone instructor at North Carolina School of the Arts Community Music School, Dexter Community Schools, Northville Community Schools, Saline Community Schools, and Pickney Community Schools.

Currently there are 4 drum majors in my studio.  Daboe at Pionere High school, Kenneth at Skyline High School, Landon at Pickney High School, and Amy at Dexter Highs School.  Students have also won many competition scholarships to summer camps, over 200 "1" ratings at district and state solo and ensemble, have been accepted to Blue Lake International, Michigan Youth Bands, Interlochen Saxophone Institute, Livingston County Honors Band, Detroit Civic Ensembles, and also many acceptances to MSBOA All-State band.

I prepare and give thought to a student’s development outside of their lesson time.  In addition to lessons, I provide opportunities for exchange and growth through group studio master classes, group classes with guest teachers, mock auditions, and studio recitals.
